Ducks

Our sanctuary is home to a a few ducks, each bringing their own unique personality to our daily life. They love to splash and play throughout the day.

Ducks are social creatures, known for their playful nature and ability to form strong bonds with their caretakers. They are incredibly engaging pets, often responding to their names and enjoying interactive play. Watching them splash in water or waddle around can be a true delight.

Did you know that ducks have a fondness for companionship? They thrive in an environment where they can socialize, either with other ducks or with their human families.

Aside from their adorable antics, ducks are also known for their distinct personalities. Some may be more outgoing and adventurous, while others are calm and content with simply lounging around. They can be quite expressive, using a variety of quacks to communicate their moods and needs.

While ducks can be a bit messy, especially when it comes to their love of water, with proper outdoor space and regular care, they make wonderfully unique and entertaining companions.

Their playful disposition, coupled with their affectionate nature, makes ducks a joy to have around, offering a different yet fulfilling pet experience.

Life is better with ducks

We started our duck journey with Ace, Grape and James Pond (JP).  These 3 made every day an adventure, they were the bosses  on the farm, even bossed around our dog Nala (Berner). Sadly, these 3 passed over the rainbow bridge, and we were devastated.

Not long after, we received a letter along with 2 ducks, Buck & Doe.  The letter was attached to the coop with the ducks already inside.
